Lisle Special Class – “Living the Gospel in Contemporary Society”
The U.S. church remains fiercely divided over its role in response to social ills. Some argue the church holds a unique responsibility to fight for social justice as part of its gospel witness. Others wonder if this emphasis on social justice distracts attention away from the gospel and/or leads to Cultural Marxism. Recognizing the importance of this debate, we’ve designed a four-week study to consider 1) what God’s word says about justice and 2) how a theology of justice informs our engagement with politics, immigration, and poverty.
We are excited to have Dr. Theon Hill teach this 4-part class titled “Living the Gospel in Contemporary Society”. The class will be held in Lisle immediately after service from 11am–12pm on Sundays 11/10, 11/24, 12/8, and 12/15. Please sign up at the Welcoming Table to help us plan. (Note: We are also planning to offer this class at the City service in the Spring).
Lisle Bags of Love Packing Event
The Lisle Women’s Ministry will be hosting a packing party on Sunday 11/17 after service in Lisle. Please join us in the lobby to help pack “Bags of Love” and write encouraging notes. All proceeds will go to benefit Reclaim 13, a non-profit that combats sex trafficking.
