Recently read this article on the suntimes.com website reporting on a pastor who was retiring after 60 plus years of ministry. It’s hard to stay in ministry for one year let alone 60! As I was reading this story about Rev. Eugene Frost, I couldn’t help but to think that this picture of faithfulness seems to becoming rarer sight these days. It was a challenging read and I wanted to share some of my own convictions and perhaps challenge all of us at TRC to be committed to recommiting ourselves to the Lord.
1. As cliche as it sounds, it is true: Long term faithfulness comes by and through short term faithfulness.
2. Life is ministry, ministry is life for even the “average” Christian.
3. Our affections for Jesus ought to grow not wane with age.
How is the Lord challenging you to be faithful?
“I love preaching, and I love helping people connect with the Lord, so I didn’t want to stop.” – Rev. Eugene Frost
