FNL: An Update and Future Dates

March 16, 2012 by Jong Park

A short update on FNL.

FNL started in hopes of fostering a culture of Word and prayer for young adults in the Chicagoland area. We met the first three times at a Rolling Meadows Park District building and recently moved for our fourth meeting to a local church in Rolling Meadows, right off the highway. We want to, if God wants it, keep meeting twice a month (usually the second and fourth Fridays).

Our format has changed a bit from the beginning. The first three meetings gave emphasis to praise and the Word with a short prayer time. For our latest FNL (the fourth one), we cut down on the praise and sermon time so that we’d have a good amount of time to pray, about 45 minutes to be exact. Ideally, we’d like to time everything so that we have about an hour to pray (alone and with others).

We believe prayer is something that’s hard to do but eternally worthwhile. With the increasing responsibilities and added stress of adulthood, we believe it’s to our tragic detriment to live without prayer. FNL is not to be a replacement for your personal prayer life, but hopefully an added encouragement.

FNL is open to all so please continue come and invite others to come.
