Restore Missions Weekend Feb 22-23

Restore Missions Weekend is a collaborative effort by some churches in the southern suburbs of Chicago to raise mission-mindedness among young adults. In the fall of 2012, we collaborated on a revival meeting called “Refuel”. Restore, then, is a natural progression of that conference: as we are refueled by the gospel, we want to be on mission to spread the gospel, which in turn restores a world broken by sin

SPEAKER PROFILES:

Dr. Steve Lee is currently the lead pastor at Immanuel Community Church. Prior to coming to Immanuel, Dr. Steve served as a missionary doctor and educator with Africa Inland Mission, International, for five years in Kenya, Africa. For four years he served as a medical director of AIC Kapsowar Hospital in western Kenya. In his last year on the field, he taught at Scott Theological College in Machakos, Kenya.

Dr. Mitch Kim served at West Alliance Church for sixteen years until he was commissioned by that church to plant Living Water in 2011, where he is currently serving as the lead pastor. He was born in southern California, raised in Tokyo, and educated in Chicago. He was called into ministry while studying philosophy as an undergraduate at Wheaton College (B.A.) and trained for ministry at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School for his M.Div. After five years of full-time ministry, he returned to study Biblical Theology at Wheaton College Graduate School (M.A., Biblical Exegesis; Ph.D. New Testament Biblical Theology), where he has also taught as an adjunct instructor.

Gary Ginter is Chairman and Interim CEO & Lead Angel Investor of VAST Power Systems, Inc. He writes, “I am an entrepreneur. I help manage firms I help start. I have been involved more than 40 years in starting, growing and selling or closing over 25 businesses and non-profit organizations, primarily in communities of need both in USA urban settings as well as in developing countries.”

Han Chae is CEO and president of Famili Circle, Ltd. in Shanghai, China. He moved to China from the States in 1996 and has been learning and growing about business as missions. He is excited to share some of those lessons with us.

Dr. Han Ho Kim is a cardiologist at Swedish Covenant Hospital, Chicago, He has been practicing medicine for 27 years and will be sharing his thoughts on what it means to be a Christian doctor in the secular workplace.
