Restore Missions Weekend [March 28-29]

Restore Missions Weekend is a collaborative effort by a few churches (Redemption, Living Water Alliance, Living Water Evangelical, Jubilee, Living Hope) to raise mission mindedness in the Chicagoland area, especially among young adults. It will be a two-day event, with worship services on Friday and Saturday nights (3/28 at 7:30pm and 3/29 at 7pm), as well as a Q/A time called “Ask George Anything” on just Saturday night (3/39 at 6pm).

335_38985811619_4124_nAbout the Speaker: George Verwer is the Founder and former International Director of Operation Mobilisation, which is a ministry of evangelism, discipleship training and church planting. George led Operation Mobilisation for over 40 years before stepping down in August 2003. George has a burning concern for vital, propagating and revolutionary Christianity in his own life and in those he meets. Read a fuller biographical sketch here.

Kids Restore

There’s also something for the kids! At “Kids with a Mission” the children will connect, explore, and pray for friends from all over the world, including the 10/40 window. It will be led by Lois Song Kim, who is currently the Children’s Ministry Director at Salvation Army Mayfair Community Church.

The “Kids with a Mission” schedule is as follows: March 28 Friday 7:30pm and March 29 Saturday at 7:00pm. Please follow the signs to the appropriate rooms. Also, childcare and nursery are available at the same time as “Kids with a Mission” However, please note that childcare, nursery, and Kids with a Mission will not be available during the Q & A Panel time (May 29 Saturday at 6pm).

1978781_10153877931900615_2087388715_nAbout Lois Song Kim: “Kids with a Mission” will be led by Lois Kim, who is currently the Children’s Ministry Director at The Salvation Army Mayfair Community Church since 2008; she has been serving in children’s ministry for 15+ years. She graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a degree in Art Education and Visual Communications, and then spent 5 years teaching art in the Chicago Public Schools. She is blessed to live out her two passions in her ministry: children and art. She loves enjoying good food with good company, or getting lost in a good book.  Lois is married to John “LJ” Kim and they have a rambunctious 5 year old son Joshua and a strong-willed, beautiful 3 year old daughter Selah.
