James 1 exhorts us to “count it all joy”. Reading the sentence in its entirety reveals what “it” is — suffering. The natural way to look at life would be to complain and be filled with negativity. James is urging his readers to look at life differently, supernaturally, biblically.
During this Thanksgiving season, this is what we want to do. We want to gather together, sit under the preaching of God’s Word, worship with all our hearts, and spend some good time in prayer (on our own and with each other). All so that we can see differently, love passionately, and live wholeheartedly for God’s glory.
So come join us on Friday November 26 at 7pm at Naperville Presbyterian Church for our Thanksgiving Prayer & Praise Night. All are welcome!
Oh, almost forgot. This service will also be a good way to enter into the Advent Season.
