22869777087_035fcdce90_kThere are plenty of opportunities to put your gifts and abilities to good use at TRC! If you are interested, please email us at asktrc [at] theredemptionchurch [dot] com.

A/V (Leader: Jeff Ma)

The Mission
To strengthen and encourage those who listen online by faithfully recording, editing, and posting sermons.

The Ministry
Working behind the scenes, the audio ministry uses the internet to share the preaching and teaching of the Word with the rest of the world. We serve the local church by archiving the sermons preached and the global church by providing a resource of teachings and blessings to people around the world. We are a ministry that has fun serving while touching people from all walks of life.

Some Helpful Skills
A willing heart – all necessary skills can be easily learned and will be taught by an audio team member

Communications (Leader: Lawrence Chen)

The Mission
To clearly and creatively communicate the events and heart of church through writing and various media.

The Ministry
The communications ministry covers nearly every facet of church communications, including photography, video, social media, website updates, e-mail communications, weekly announcements, printed bulletins, and more.  Volunteer opportunities include avenues for creative expression, whether it be through Facebook or Instagram updates or designing banners or announcement slides for upcoming events. There are also “unseen” avenues to serve, such as preparing the announcements pdf each week, printing out physical copies of the bulletin, or sending out listserv e-mails.  There are countless ways to serve through this ministry, and anyone can make a difference through the communications ministry.

Some Helpful Skills
A willing heart to serve – many of the tasks handled by the communications ministry require no technical or creative skill, yet we are always looking for more volunteers. All you need is a desire and willingness to serve!
Photography or Video editing skills
Graphic Design
Familiarity with web communications, including social media

Education (Leaders: Calvin and Lizz Chu)

The Mission
“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” –Proverbs 22:6

The Ministry
TRC’s education ministry serves the children (newborns to high schoolers) of our church. Each Sunday, we strive to provide an engaging and nurturing environment where children can learn biblical truths and grow in their relationship with God. We believe that every child, no matter what age, has the capacity to love and walk with God, so we are intentional about partnering with families to make an impact in every child’s life.

Food (Leader: Cindy Lam)

The Mission
To encourage fellowship by using food as a medium for people to gather and interact with each other.

The Ministry
The team will provide a friendly environment in which people can come before Sunday Service to enjoy some breakfast and coffee while meeting new church goers or catching up with friends. We would like to use this opportunity to create good fellowship as well as an “ice-breaker” to bring friends who don’t normally attend Sunday Service. Serving in this ministry entails buying food or baking the day before, coming in early to set up, and staying later to clean up afterwards.

Some Helpful Skills
Baking
Organized
Friendly

Missions (Leader: David An)

The Mission
To practically engage and live out TRC’s Vision of connecting others to God’s Story through various outreach events and involvement.

The Ministry
The ministry hopes to provide and find ways for our church to be involved in living out the Great Commission of making disciples of all nations – locally in our communities and globally in our world. Through events such as Feed My Starving Children and Share Your Soles, we hope to find ways that we can serve and bless our community. Through ministries such as Exodus World Service and Redemption No Borders’ reports, we hope to pray and expand our heart for our world. Additionally, we hope to both support and send out missionaries & missions teams in the years to come to help expand the mission work being done.

Some Helpful Skills
Desire to grow in knowledge and prayer for the world.
Openness to reaching out to others within the community.

Set Up Crew (Leader: Chris Park)

The Mission
Provide support to Worship Team and other Ministries so that they can wholeheartedly focus on blessing the church.

The Ministry
The Set Up Crew (affectionately known as Team SUC) is a flexible and multi-purpose ministry that will provide the extra hands and hearts to support other ministries in prayer and manpower. The primary responsibility is to ensure that the Worship Team equipment is set up and ready to go on Sundays but also to assist with setting up and breaking down at special events and retreats. Our desire is to serve God and the church through any opportunity the Lord provides.

Some Helpful Skills
Ability to lift heavy equipment

Special Praise (Leader: Paul Gula)

The Mission
The Special Praise Team is a ministry open to all who seek to serve through music.

The Ministry
The team presents music during the time of offering once every two months and on special occasions such as Easter and Christmas. Our role is to provide a ministry opportunity for anyone with a desire to serve with their musical gifts.

Some Helpful Skills
Singing or musical ability is encouraged.

Welcoming Team (Leaders: Joan Lee and Eric Choi)

The Mission
(1) Welcome and usher people into our Sunday worship services, (2) Provide our newcomers with information about our church and how to get involved, and (3) Connect newcomers with others in the church. “Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.”
– Romans 15:7

The Ministry
This team serves both before and after Sunday worship service. Before service, we greet and seat people as they enter the worship room. After service, we provide a welcoming table where our newcomers can receive more information about TRC, sign up for life groups, and get connected to others in the church. We proactively look out for newcomers with the desire to make them feel welcome and part of our church family, build relationships with them, and introduce them to other church members/leaders. We host welcoming lunches once per quarter, and we serve in groups on a rotational schedule.

Some Helpful Skills
Willingness to serve
Friendly
Willingness to talk with people you don’t know
