RNB - Honduras (Mission Trip - Jim Lee)

May 12, 2014 by David An

As shared during our Lord’s Day Service, our brother Jim Lee, along with some of his classmates, will be traveling to Tegucigalpa, Honduras on a medical missions trip (May 17th-24th). The trip will be focused on providing medical services, children’s ministry, construction projects, and ultimately sharing the Word of God to the natives that the team encounters.

As we partner with them in prayer (and through helping provide supplies), here are some of the country’s known challenges and ways to pray.

Country’s Challenges:

  • Honduras is one of the poorest countries in Latin America and has the world’s highest murder rate
  • Socio-economic problems rooted in endemic and lasting poverty affecting up to 80% of the population
  • The devastation of Hurricane Mitch continues to blight Honduras
  • AIDS has decimated the population
  • Fragmentation undermines the growth of evangelicals

Prayer Requests:

  • Safety of the team and the arrival of the supplies
  • Physical and spiritual restoration of the Hondurans
  • Continual economic and infrastructural recovery in Honduras
  • Unity of the local churches in Honduras

** A list of urgently needed supplies is available at the Welcoming Table if you would like to contribute**

Please continue to pray for our brother Jim, his team, and the country of Honduras. Please pray that God’s love and glory would be shown in Honduras!
